Dan Campbell's Lions recently announced their initial 53-man roster and there wasn't a lot to be surprised about. The list featured the usual suspects, but fans have noted one absentee that has left them confused.

28-year-old WR Greg Dortch isn't a 1000 yard receiver or someone who gets you multiple TDs. But, he was a key cog in the Lions' offense especially in the return game, with some fans even hailing him as the perfect Kalif Raymond replacement.

That is why the Lions' decision to cut him is all the more bewildering. Not to mention, he also had a great pre-season, even finding himself in the conversation for WR3.

There is still a chance for the Lions to bring Dortch back, but opposing teams are starting to circle. The Buffalo Bills are reportedly keen to bring him in, and the interest will only increase.

So this begs the question, will Dan Campbell and the Lions regret letting go of him?

The Lions cut eight-year veteran TE Tyler Conklin

Greg Dortch wasn't the only player to face the axe in Detroit. The Lions also cut seasoned veteran, Tyler Conklin. The TE joined the team in the off-season, and was expected to add experience to the position.

Now, they head into the season with Sam LaPorta, Jackson Meeks, and Brock Wright. A TE room, whose average age is just 25.

It will be interesting to see how this roster performs over the course of the season, and if Dan Campbell will get the best out of them.
