Matthew Stafford, the star quarterback, spent 12 seasons at Detroit before moving to the Los Angeles Rams in a trade in 2021. While the move led him to a Super Bowl title with the Rams, it was also a big turning point for his wife, Kelly Stafford.

Kelly recently appeared on The Cutting Edge podcast and opened up about how her life in Detroit often revolved around her husband's career. Although she supported her husband, she admitted the fact that she struggled to find her own identity.

"Looking back at Detroit, I would say I was happy because I loved him, but I was also unhappy because I didn't really know where I fit in or who I was," Kelly explained in the interview with The Cutting Edge podcast.

While speaking on The Cutting Edge podcast, Kelly shared that moving to Los Angeles made her realise that she could pursue her own ambitions instead of simply trying to be a traditional NFL spouse.

She spent years being known as Stafford's girlfriend, finaceé and wife, which reminded her that her own dreams were also important as much as his husband's football career. As Stafford moved to Los Angeles, the move transformed their lives.

Stafford led the Rams to victory in Super Bowl LVI during his first season, while Kelly fulfilled her goals, launching her own podcast and expanding her public platform. The couple married in 2015 and are now parents to four daughters, twins- Sawyer and Chandler (9), with Hunter (8) and Tyler (6).

While Kelly talked about finding herself, she once again made it to the headlines as the couple attended one of the year's biggest celebrity weddings.

Kelly Stafford attended the star-studded Taylor Swift wedding, putting behind her comments

Despite Kelly's previous comments, she and his husband attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's lavish wedding celebration, joining a guest list packed with NFL stars and celebrities.

"Now, I have never once said I didn't like Taylor Swift — ever," Stafford said to her co-host Hank Winchester during a 2024 episode of their show via Tzvi Machlin of The Spun. "But I will say I kind of got tired of the Chiefs' coverage of it — actually, the NFL's coverage — of this budding relationship last year. And, can she do anything about that? No, she can't."

Kelly made it clear that her frustration was never at Swift but at the league's constant focus on the couple's budding relationship. Her appearance at the wedding underscored that sentiment, showing no ill will towards the pop star.

"A night that reminded us all just how lucky we are to have found our person. ❤️," Kelly wrote on her social media post.

The couple attended the wedding, and since there were no phones allowed, Kelly took a click outside the hotel as they got ready to go to the grand wedding.
