Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has become one of the NFL’s most recognizable stars, but nobody experiences the emotional highs and lows of game day quite like his wife, Christen Harper Goff.

Speaking on People's WAG World series, the Sports Illustrated model opened up about what game days are really like as the wife of a quarterback who plays a game that takes a heavy toll physically.

“It’s just you’re worried about so many things," Christen shared as reported by People on June 11. "The person you love the most is out there. You want them to stay safe, you want them to be healthy, you want them to do well, you want them to be happy with the outcome."

Christen's fear is grounded given Goff's history with injuries.

While Goff is known for his durability, his career has included several significant injury setbacks.

The quarterback was selected first overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. In the same year, in August, he suffered a bruised tailbone in the 3rd preseason game. While it was a Grade 1 injury, he was able to play in the 4th.

Four years later in 2020, still with the Rams, he broke his right thumb following Week 16's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he could not take part in the franchise's regular-season finale.

His first injury after joining the Lions came in November 2021, when he suffered an oblique injury during Week 10.

Both Christen and Goff both welcomed their daughter, Romy Isabelle Goff, in July 2025. Christen also talked about how her daughter has helped ease her nerves.

“Game day is a lot," said Christen. "I think honestly having Romy there has been just so nice. It’s just, again, a good perspective shift. She needs me even if it’s like two minutes before half, the game’s crazy, she needs me.”

Goff is preparing for the 2026 season where expectations on him are sky high for one NFL analyst.

NFL Analyst Predicts Goff To Be In MVP Conversations

On the June 10 episode on the Woodward Sports Network, NFL analyst Caleb Czarnik predicted that Goff would find himself in the MVP finalist race next season.

"He is going to be top 5 in MVP voting. He's gonna have 4,600 yards, 35+ touchdowns, 7-8 interceptions," said Czarnik. "That team is going to have 13-14 wins with the schedule they have."

Goff has consistently been putting up decent numbers over the last few years. He even finished 5th in MVP voting in 2024 after he had recorded 4,629 passing yards and 37 touchdowns and led the Lions to the NFC Championship Game.

"I can guarantee you, going into Week 15, Jared Goff will be in MVP conversation," Czarnik doubled down.

However, Goff's MVP win will depend completely on the team's overall performance. If the Lions reach or win the Super Bowl this year, Goff would be a clear favorite to take the award home.
