Detroit Lions tight end Brock Wright has a new ring. The $12M star married former Red Wings host Carley Johnston on April 4. The wedding marks a major life update for one of the Motor City's premier sports couples.

Surrounded by close family and friends, the couple shared a quiet, meaningful ceremony.

The Motor City’s power couple has a long-standing connection to sports, each building their own path before it all came together.

Brock Joseph Wright started his NFL career with the Detroit Lions in 2021 as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. The $12 million Lions star is known for solid blocking abilities and his capacity for making key touchdown receptions.

With Wright being a key element in the Lions, Carley made her career as an in-arena host and NHL reporter for the Detroit Red Wings. 

In 2015, she worked at WDIV as an associate producer and news intern. Known for her passionate and energetic reporting, she hosted "Coffee with Carley" and was a prominent on-camera personality.

That Culminated Into a Proposal Last Year

On May 2, 2025, Brock Wright went down on his knees at Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to ask for the lady’s hand. With all smiles and tears of joy in her eyes, she said yes!

Carley Johnston, via her Instagram, shared the life-changing decision with the fans and made it official that she is a “WAG” (an acronym for Wives and Girlfriends) now. 

“I must’ve done something right in life to deserve a love like this. Brock Joseph, it is such a blessing to be loved and loved by you!! I cannot wait to be your wife!!!!!!! Spending my life loving you will be the greatest thing I ever do.”
