Terrion Arnold’s offseason took a shocking turn after a reported robbery in Florida three months back, on January 30. The Detroit Lions cornerback shared details about the missing cash while also opening up about why he had that much money with him.

“Oh my God, you know I was,” Arnold said during the police interview when an officer asked him if the money was meant for a visit to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. “You answered the question by yourself. It’s the offseason, man. Blackjack. Blackjack and roulette.”

Arnold told police that a rental property in Largo, Florida, was broken into, with items worth more than $250,000 taken. The list included luxury items and around $100,000 in cash.

According to investigators, Arnold reported theft of numerous high-end belongings. It included two Rolex watches valued together at $24,000.

Besides, there were Louis Vuitton bags and shoes, and Goyard bags. His $80,000 diamond Cuban link chain featuring a personalized “TA” pendant also got stolen.

Arnold has not been charged in any case linked to the robbery or any follow-up incident. Reports also say he has stayed quiet on the legal matter and is letting the situation be handled.

“I feel like the situation’s being handled,” the 23-year-old said. “I’m here to support the kids, and my mindset is being the best player I can be for my team.”

He also shared an update on his health. After dealing with shoulder injuries in 2025, Arnold said he had surgery and is now on track to return fully fit for the upcoming season.

The focus for now remains on football. As he works his way back, the Lions will be watching closely to see how he performs heading into the new year. That also brings attention to changes in the secondary.

Entry of Keith Abney II Creates Pressure for Terrion Arnold In The Secondary

The Lions added cornerback Keith Abney II in the fifth round to improve depth. While he is a late pick, his college numbers show he can contribute if he adjusts quickly to the next level.

The Lions picked Abney out of Arizona State, where he had a solid 2025 season. He finished with 36 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. Those numbers show he can make plays in different ways.

If he carries that form into the Detroit camp, it could create real competition. The Lions will not rush anything, but strong performances from Abney can change how the depth chart looks.

The numbers have not been especially encouraging for Arnold over his first two seasons with the Detroit Lions. He has permitted 77 catches on 133 targets, and allowed a 57.9% completion rate. Arnold's PFF grade is 52.6, and he is ranked 97th out of 114 players.

As a result, there is some pressure on the position. If Abney looks ready, the team could at least think about changes.
