After struggling with injuries and off-field issues, the Detriot Lions' cornerback received an ultimatum from a Lions expert regarding his future with the franchise.

While speaking on the Lions Talk by Chat Sports, expert Mike Kimber made bold claims on Arnold, saying it is a “do or die” situation for the CB in 2026 to prove his worth in the Detroit Lions' roster.

“It's do or die at the cornerback position. It's do or die. If you don't step up by year three, patience has run out,” Kimber said. “I'm sorry. That's a fact. You have to be able to improve. With that said, folks, let's not rip on TA, right?”

Kimber hopes Terrion Arnold needs to overcome his alleged accusation of armed robbery and focus on his return to the 2026 NFL season.

“Look, he was dealing with that issue in court. That's off-field issues. We just don't want to hear about that anymore, Mike Kimber said.  “We want to focus on what he can do in 2026.”

Kimber believes that when the Motown CB is healthy, he delivers at his position. According to Pro Football Reference, he appeared in 16 games (starting 15) and recorded 47 solo tackles in 2024.

“...As long as he can stay healthy, and again, that's going to be the name of the game for Terry Arnold is health, stay healthy. If he can stay healthy. I think that he is going to perform well. A lot of people may disagree, but I do believe that he's got a very strong mindset."

He is coming out of a torn shoulder and a concussion sustained while playing against the Cincinnati Bengals last season.

These injuries sidelined him for the rest of the season, missing nine games. While appearing in 8 games (starting 7), he secured 31 combined tackles before his absence.

Arnold Expects to Have A 'Big' Season

According to a report published by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Terrion Arnold is preparing for his return for the 2026 NFL season.

“Before I got hurt, I was getting in my groove, figuring things out,” Arnold said. “Started playing my best ball and then just dealing with that injury, nagging it, so I’m just excited to see where I’ll be at without having any injuries…”

Arnold is actively working towards his return to the gridiron. Back in February, he shared his workout clips on Instagram.

“As far as OTAs and stuff, I don’t know about that,” Arnold said. “That’s kind of up to them…” “But as far as training camp and stuff, I know I’m expected to be there.”

Following his progress, he declared himself fit in April. He is all set to join the OTAs and mandatory veteran minicamp.
