Taylor Decker requested his release on March 6. Now, General Manager Brad Holmes' comments on the Lions' Collective little to confirm Taylor Decker's return.

Holmes spoke at the round table on March 25, and his words suggested that Detroit may not get the reunion some are hoping for.

"I'll never say never. Um, just I've learned a lot in this business to say that. But no, it hasn't been any recent dialogue," Homles said during the exclusive interview.

Taylor Decker had been a cornerstone of the Detroit Lions' offensive line since 2016. Over his 10-season career with the Lions, he played in 140 games.

He is the only offensive lineman in Lions history with multiple touchdown receptions and gaining 15 receiving yards, being the most career receiving yards for a Lions offensive lineman since 1950.

Brad Holmes had talked about giving space to Taylor during the NFL combine. “Obviously, Taylor, he’s earned the right to have as much space as he needs to reflect on a long season, and we respect him; we give him that,” Holmes told the media.

What did the Lions coach have to say?

Head Coach Dan Campbell revealed that the team had aquire a new left tackle no matter what. "Look, if it’s not (possible Decker returns), then we‘ve got to find a guy," he said in late February.

However, he also clarified that the Lions can't rest easy even if he comes back. "But even if (he returns), we’ve still got to find a guy. So, one way or another, we’re going to need somebody who can play over there (left tackle). If we need them in a crunch, or if we need them as a starter," he added.

Brad Holmes likely agrees with the head coach. Despite rumors of a rift, Holmes dismissed the speculation.

"I don’t know where the other stuff came from, but no, I mean, if anything, it’s me and Dan in total lockstep like we always have been," he added.
