Peyton Manning's latest NFL Mount Rushmore sparked plenty of debates, not because of who made the list, but because of who didn't. Randy Moss, one of the league's most dominant receivers ever surprisingly found himself left off the quarterback's list of greatest pass catchers in NFL history.

During Manning's February appearance on the Rushmore Podcast, he was asked to select his four greatest NFL pass catchers. The conversation quickly caught the eyes of fans because a six-time Pro Bowler was not included.

"I'm going with Rice, Marvin, Berry, uh, and Tony, that's too right. It's okay. No problem."

Manning immediately talked about the one elite pass catcher he missed in his top 4.

"The other guy that's not on my list, you know, and you're going to k*** me for it. I mean, Randy Moss was basically uncoverable his entire career," said Peyton Manning via the Rushmore Podcast. "And so, uh, and so I don't know how he's not on it, but, uh, you told me to pick four."

Jerry Rice remains widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, while Marvin Harrison spent the majority of his Hall of Fame career catching passes from Manning in Indianapolis.

Tony Gonzalez reformed the tight end position, and Raymond Berry, a Hall of Famer, was known for his legendary work ethic and sure hands. Still, Moss' exclusion led to arguments among fans and analysts as he totaled 982 receptions, 15,292 receiving yards, and 156 touchdown catches.

Moss could stretch the field and dominate defensive backs, which made him one of the most feared players of his era. The former Minnesota Vikings player was a six-time Pro Bowler, a four-time First Team All-Pro selection, and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

On the same Rushmore podcast, Tom Brady stated what made Moss so special. The seven-time Super Bowl champion highlighted the receiver's rare combination of speed and playmaking ability, explaining how he changed the way QBs approached the passing game.

"Randy Moss was faster than every DB. Let's say your guys opened by two yards behind him, you want to get that ball in your receivers' hands quickly. And that was the unbelievable part about Randy."

Brady explained why Moss was such a nightmare for opposing defenses. His speed created separation that only a few receivers in the NFL could match. It gave QBs a larger margin for error on deep throws.

Moss set an NFL record with 23 receiving touchdowns in 2007. Even years after their record-breaking season, Brady's appreciation for Moss remains the same.
