Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has found himself at the center of another social media discussion after he liked a post on X aimed at two rival quarterbacks.

However, NFL analyst Scott Barrett has called out Williams for his conduct.

“I must say, I really respect this level of petty (laughing emoji 2x nail painting),” read the post, with a photo showing Williams liking the post.

The post liked by Williams was also posted by Barrett on his personal X account, where he revealed the least accurate quarterbacks on balls thrown downfield over the last three years. In the rankings, Kyler Murray ranked first with a 33.4% accuracy, while Love ranked second with 36.3%.

The stat might come as a shock, as Williams was called out multiple times for his accuracy during last season. However, he was not ranked among the five names mentioned by Barrett, which also included Derek Carr, Will Levis, and Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes.

While Murray was injured for most of last season, Love and Williams both played 15 and 17 games, respectively, and faced each other in the playoffs. In their matchup in the Wild Card round, Williams orchestrated a comeback from 21-3 at halftime to win 31-27.

Meanwhile, during the regular season, Love recorded 3,381 passing yards while Williams had 3,942 passing yards. Love had recorded 23 touchdowns and six interceptions while Williams finished the season with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Meanwhile, one NFL analyst has ranked Williams much higher than Love in his recent rankings.

NFL analyst ranks Williams as a top 3 QB in the league

Williams had a tough rookie year after being selected first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, yet showed potential. In his sophomore season, he improved tenfold and has undoubtedly become a premier quarterback in the league after he led the Bears to their first playoff appearance since 2020 and first playoff win since the 2010 season.

This has prompted FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd, who gave his ranking of the top 10 quarterbacks in the league on July 14, to rank Caleb Williams as the 3rd best quarterback in the league, above Love, who ranked ninth. He went on to compare Williams to the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and credited his playoff moments as a main reason for his ranking.

“I don’t know why people will push back on this,” said Cowherd. “The throw up the left sideline against Green Bay just made no damn sense. The throw in the back of the end zone against the Rams - what in God’s name is happening? That’s early Mahomes.”

Cowherd also mentioned that another reason for him to rank Williams so high was that he had the lowest interception percentage of any quarterback in league history with 1,110 attempts.

Williams is only going to get better, however, and expectations will be sky-high. It will be interesting to see how he progresses from last season.
