The Lions lost a key player to a division rival. Veteran receiver Kalif Raymond is heading to the Chicago Bears. The move left star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown heartbroken, who shared his reaction on social media.

That's because the Bears snapped up Kalif Raymond. The NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report that Kalif Raymond has agreed to a contract of $5.1 million for one year.

Sharing on X, Amon Ra wrote, “Greatest teammate I’ve ever had. Lockermate since rookie year 😔 love you brother.”

31-year-old Lions receiver and kick returner Kalif Raymond started his career with the Denver Broncos in 2016. He made his way through the Jets, Giants, Titans, and finally joined the Detroit Lions in 2021 for the next five seasons. During his career, he played in 112 games covering 2554 yards, 9 successful touchdowns, and 190 receptions.

But it's not just the passing game he's been solid in. He is also a productive punt returner. For the 2025 season, he recorded 32 punt returns for 241 yards with 3 punt return touchdowns.

Why Kalif Raymond Meant So Much to the Detroit Lions

Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes did not want Kalif Raymond to go to a divisional rival.  Raymond spent five seasons as a member of the Lions.

Since 2021, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond have shared the locker room, developing a close relationship both on and off the field.

Raymond was a quick, explosive option for Jared Goff and provided crucial depth behind St. Brown. His ability to stretch defenses made the offense more versatile, making his departure both a tactical and emotional loss.
