Not Justin Jefferson or Puka Nacua, Jared Goff believes this NFL star to be the best WR in the league

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has played with some very good wide receivers throughout his career during the past 10 seasons. Now, he has named who he believes is the best wide receiver in the league.
While there have been debates over who the best wide receiver is in the league with names such as Justin Jefferson, Puka Nacua, Ja’Marr Chase, and so on, Goff believes that his Lions teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown is the best in the NFL today.
“I think he’s the best wide receiver in the league,” said Goff on the July 21 episode of the NFL Network podcast. “I think he’s the only guy who catches with it, runs with it, blocks, does everything. He can do it all, and it’s a lot of fun to work with him and play with him.”

Goff, who named St. Brown while on The Insiders on the NFL Network on July 21, opened up on his relationship with St.Brown.
“The way he works in practice, he makes me want to get him the ball,” added Goff. “He makes me want to reward him for all his hard work, and it makes everyone around him work harder. He’s just such a great teammate, great player, great person, and I love playing with him.”
It can be easily argued that St. Brown is the best wide receiver in the league as well. Since getting drafted in the fourth round in 2021, he has made four Pro Bowl appearances and been named first-team All-Pro twice. Last season, he recorded 1,401 receiving yards on 117 receptions and scored 11 touchdowns.
Goff's statement about St.Brown holds immense value as the Lions look forward to contending for the Super Bowl. The wide receiver earned a 90.7 overall PFF grade in the 2025 season, 3rd among 81 qualified wide receivers.
Meanwhile, one NFL analyst has predicted how he will play next season
NFL analyst predicts another amazing year for Amon-Ra St. Brown
The former fourth-round pick has been very consistent since getting into the league. He’s recorded at least 115 catches, 1,260-plus yards, and scored at least 10 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. Therefore, Vito Chirco of Sports Illustrated has predicted St. Brown to have yet another such elite campaign.
“He’s become the definition of an elite receiver, and the Detroit Lions’ offense wouldn’t be nearly as high-powered without his presence,” wrote Chirco. “St. Brown, meanwhile, should be the go-to target for Goff once again this upcoming season.”
According to Chirco’s prediction, St. Brown will have 117 receptions and finish with 1,393 receiving yards while also scoring 11 touchdowns next season.
This would be St. Brown’s third-best season in terms of receiving yards and tied for second-best in terms of touchdowns. What is worth noting is how St. Brown last season had a career-worst receiving success rate of 54.7%.
However, in the 2024 season, he had a 70.2 receiving success rate, which was the best amongst starting wide receivers. With a better offensive playcaller in Drew Petzing, if St. Brown can get back to his 2024 form, we can expect him to go well past Chiro’s prediction.
