The Lions are coming off a disappointing 2025 season and are looking to bounce back this year. They're certainly capable, but a lot of their success will be determined by the QB play of one Jared Goff.

Despite not being considered a once in a generation talent like some of the other QBs in the NFL, Goff has done a stellar job for the Lions under center. He's impressed several analysts, including NFL legend Richard Sherman.

Sherman recently spoke about Goff and the Lions on his podcast, where he set the bar high for them. Not only does he expect Detroit to win the NFC North, but he also expects Goff to outperform Packers QB Jordan Love.

"I can show you four Jared Goff seasons better than Jordan Love's best season."

That is some high praise from one of the greatest DBs in NFL history. It will be interesting to see if Goff and the Lions can meet those expectations.

Dan Campbell compared Jared Goff to Drew Brees

Jared Goff's association with NFL legends recently does not end with Richard Sherman. He has also been mentioned in the same sentence as Drew Brees.

That's right, Lions HC Dan Campbell recently compared Goff to the Hall of Famer. Campbell hailed Goff's ability to make passes under pressure and commented how the QB's processing speed reminds him of Brees.

Goff seems to be having a bunch of compliments heaped on him these days. Being compared to one of the greatest to ever play the position is one thing. Now he has to go out there and prove it.
