One unexpected draft twist over QB Ty Simpson has left ‌NFL fans clowning the Baltimore Ravens after a potential deal with the Detroit Lions suddenly collapsed during the 2026 NFL Draft.

With confirmation on the scrapped deal between the Lions and Ravens because of the recently surfaced video of the Ravens draft room, the Motor City fans have started circling the franchise and have flooded ‌social media with powerful reactions.  

As reported by ‌NFL analyst Ari Meirov, the Lions were offering No. 17 and No. 118, and a 2027 third-round draft pick for the No. 14 pick of the Ravens during the 2026 NFL draft. 

But when the Los Angeles Rams selected Ty Simpson in the first round (13th overall), the Detroit Lions’ GM Brad Holmes walked out of the deal. 

"We talked to teams up-way up-and we just talked about (it) and tried to see if we can be at peace with what the capital is that you'd have to expend,” Holmes said. "...Right after LA took the quarterback, I felt pretty good that we might be able to just get Blake."

Brad Holmes previously confirmed the team was targeting Clemson's Blake Miller to pair with OT Penei Sewell on the offensive line.

With Miller being considered as a potential starter on the Motor City team, the fans are storming social media by mocking the Ravens’ scrapped deal.

NFL Fans Roast Ravens Over Failed Trade Talks With Lions

The Baltimore Ravens fans were not the only ones reacting after the failed trade discussions with the Detroit Lions surfaced online. The Motor City fans quickly turned the moment into a roasting session aimed directly at the franchise.

One fan mocked the Ravens by writing, “Awww the Ravens got a rug pulled on a trade offer? Hows it feel...?” referencing previous situations where Baltimore has reportedly faced the collapsed negotiations.

It is not the first time that has happened with the Ravens; previously, the Las Vegas Raiders trade deal for Edge Maxx Crosby faced a massive scrapping, which has left the Ravens looking for an all-star center.

The fans also acknowledged the Lions' intentions of going after Miller to fill the void in their roster.

“Lions were going to trade up for Miller, Brad Holmes has said this,” one fan commented. “Once Ty Simpson went to the Rams, they felt they didn't need to trade up to get him. Proctor was a smoke screen.”

Some fans even suggested teams around the league are beginning to lose trust in Baltimore during negotiations.

“2nd team that pulled an offer from the Ravens. Are teams teaching the Ravens a lesson??” another user posted.

Once the idea of the deal was out in public, the fans took to social media and showed that they are happy with the failed trade because it was too much for a pick. “Thank god that didn’t happen. What a disaster.”
