Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons has never hidden his admiration for the Golden State Warriors' NBA star, Stephen Curry. As the Warriors pursued NBA star LeBron James, Curry found the idea of playing with his longtime rival appealing.

The main talking point this NBA offseason was about where the legendary basketball player would go in free agency. However, after James announced his decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers on 24 July, Parsons was frustrated about Curry’s situation.

“Nobody wants to play with my man curry man I don’t get it!!,” wrote Parsons in a post shared from his personal X account. “All he do is win!! What is going on in the bay!!???”

Parson's July 24 X post echoed the sentiments of many fans who were eager to see the union of two of the greatest players in NBA history. Despite mediocre seasons since their 2022 NBA Finals win, expectations for the Warriors would have been high.

One of the main teams being discussed was the Golden State Warriors, which would have seen two major rivals during the 2010s and now good friends in James and Curry join forces.

However, with the Warriors failing to get the veteran NBA star, the team's championship window now seems more closed than open.

This is also not the first time that Parsons was vocal about his admiration for Curry and defended him. The latest of them was when he reacted to Emmanuel Acho’s ranking of the top 10 active players if they were at their peak on May 14, 2025.

“Im sorry not having curry first is disrespectful!” Parsons wrote on X, reacting to Curry being ranked fifth in the list.

Parsons himself is currently recovering from a torn ACL, which he suffered on December 14 against the Denver Broncos. And his reported return date is being questioned after another NFL superstar’s recovery.

Questions arise about Parsons’ recovery after seeing Mahomes’ rehab timeline

December 14 was a bad day not just for Packers fans. It was also terrible for Kansas City Chiefs fans, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL just moments before Parsons suffered his.

However, their recovery times have fans confused, since Mahomes is on track to be fully cleared for the start of Chiefs training camp. But Parsons might not return till October.

However, Freddie Boston of Fansided’s Lombardi Ave has explained how the situations are different when looked at closer.

Boston pointed out that no two ACL injuries are the same. Furthermore, he noted that Mahomes had to undergo surgery just two days after the injury due to him also tearing his LCL in the same knee. However, it was different for Parsons.

Parsons had to wait for the swelling to go down and finally had his surgery on December 29. He also underwent a meniscus cleanup, which has a minimum nine-month recovery window.

Boston also mentioned that Mahomes being ready to return for training camp might not necessarily mean that he would be participating fully during it.

While there’s a good chance for Mahomes to return to play in Week 1, the earliest date for a Parsons return is Week 5. However, according to Boston, a more realistic return window for Parsons is between Weeks 8 and 12.
