Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell’s latest win came far from a football field. The linebacker and his wife, Megan Campbell, announced on Instagram that they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cooper James Campbell.

Cooper was born on July 3, but the couple kept the moment private before sharing a set of family photos nearly two weeks later. Megan shared the post with a beautiful caption.

“Cooper James Campbell 7/3 - The beginning of our favorite chapter yet! We love you so much, buddy,” Megan's caption reads.

Megan shared a series of pictures of the couple and Cooper on her Instagram. The couple first shared their pregnancy news in February.

They met while competing as college athletes at the University of Iowa in 2019, where Jack played football and Megan played basketball, before later moving to Drake.

The college sweethearts married in June 2024 in Okoboji, Iowa. Cooper’s arrival came just over two years after their wedding, marking another major milestone for the couple.

Campbell has enjoyed a big rise with Detroit as well. The Lions selected him in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he later became a key part of the defense. He recorded 176 tackles and five sacks in 2025, earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

Detroit then signed him to a four-year, $81 million extension in May, less than two months before Cooper was born.

Those football achievements gave Lions supporters plenty to cheer, but the family announcement brought out a softer, more personal side of their support on social media.

NFL Fans send warm wishes to the Campbell family

As Megan shared the news on Instagram, the supporters congratulated the new parents and welcomed Cooper.

Christen Goff, the wife of Lions quarterback Jared Goff, praised the newborn and expressed her excitement for the couple.

“He’s so perfect!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys!” Goff wrote.

Support also came from outside Detroit. Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean congratulated the couple.

“Congrats!!!” DeJean wrote.

The Detroit Times shared the news on X, helping the announcement reach fans beyond the couple’s Instagram page. Fans didn’t hesitate to show their love. One supporter brought the Lions’ future into the family celebration.

“Congratulations, JC. Now go get all of us, including the baby, a d*** Super Bowl please lol,” the fan wrote.

The message reflected the faith supporters have placed in Campbell, who has grown into one of Detroit’s leading defenders. Other replies kept their attention on Megan, Jack, and their newborn son.

“That is a darling baby boy! Congratulations, parents!” another fan wrote.

Several supporters needed only a few words to show how happy the pictures made them feel.

“Absolutely glorious….congrats,” one response read.

Some fans directed all their excitement toward Cooper, treating him like the newest member of the Lions family.

“LOVE YOU ALREADY, COOPER!!!!! " He’s perfect!!!” one fan wrote.

As Campbell begins life as a first-time father, could Cooper bring a little extra joy to his next season in Detroit? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments!
