For the first time in his four-year NFL career, wide receiver Jameson Williams featured in all regular-season games last year. Reflecting on his career-high numbers, teammate David Montgomery now believes this is just the beginning.

In an interview this week with MLive, Montgomery spoke about how the work they've put in this year points towards even better numbers for Williams for 2026.

"His detail, his eyes, his catch points, his checkpoints, everything that we’re doing now, we did March, April, man, it showed up," Montgomery said. "We’re really excited about where he is right now. This is definitely, by far, been his best offseason, his best chance to grow as a player since we’ve been here for a number of reasons, but he’s done a good job."

Williams has looked fully locked in throughout Detroit's offseason program so far, consistently taking part in drills, 7-on-7 sessions, and full-team work during OTAs and minicamp.

The wide receiver is already coming off the best statistical season of his NFL career after posting 1,117 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last year. It also marked the second straight season Williams crossed the 1,000-yard mark.

"You know, we’ve really worked hard this offseason, even just on the phone talking about the detail that it takes to go from being good to truly elite in our game," Montgomery further revealed, in conversation with MLive. "...From a mentality standpoint, the way that we go about when we’re working, like not even just the start of a drill, but also just the finish."

Currently, Williams is on a $80 million contract, keeping him at the franchise through 2029.

As the receiver readies himself for a fifth year with the franchise, expectations are high for him, heading into 2026.

While all eyes are on Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs for a 2026 Super Bowl run, Williams has quietly been building an impressive record.

Yesterday, Pride of Detroit NFL writer Morgan Cannon covered just what could be expected from the receiver in 2026.

"Coming off of back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Williams will once again be a key component in a Lions’ offense that is looking to silence critics in 2026," Cannon wrote in his report.

That trust, however, comes with both risk and reward.

"Like with St. Brown, it’s clear that Goff trusts Williams, even a bit too much at times. That trust can sometimes lead to some head-scratching turnovers. At the same time, it can lead to 70-yard house calls, too," Cannon added.

Having amassed 17 receiving touchdowns in 50 games so far in his career, all eyes are on the 25-year-old as the Lions look to get back to playoff football next year.
