Before the season begins, there are always predictions that some don't like, such as last year's playoff absentees predicted to beat the Chicago Bears. This has left Kay Adams visibly frustrated.

Amid the free agency period, the esteemed Fanduel Sports Network has published its results for the Fanduel for NFC North Championships. But the odds table has sparked this reaction. 

Among them, Kay Adams of the Up and Adams podcast did not hold off, calling out the Fanduel Sportsbook for positioning the Chicago Bears at No. 3.

According to the results, the Detroit Lions are leading the NFC North Championship with +170 odds, followed by the Green Bay Packers at +200, the Chicago Bears at +330, and at No.4, it's the Minnesota Vikings at +550. 

“Speaking of the Bears, something else I'd like to address this morning with the overlords over at FanDuel Sportsbook who power our show and power my life and my bad decision-making, but here it is,” Kay Adams said. “The complete, utter disrespect that we're seeing for the Chicago Bears right now, the defending NFC North champions.”

Her major concern was how the defending champions could be ranked No. 3 below the Detroit Lions. Projected fixtures reportedly played a role in the analysis, but even then, this was a nosedive.

She did not limit herself to that. She went on to question their metrics. 

“The thoughts of you in the hearts of the overlords or the computers with their spreadsheets at FanDuel headquarters, like, what is the problem?” she questioned. “Sixth-ranked offense…”. “...We're not even through the draft.”

Sportsbooks like FanDuel, DraftKings, etc., rank teams based on their own metrics and algorithms. They have a certain structure that they follow.

The frustration does not come out of nowhere. The Chicago Bears actually turned heads in 2025, finishing 11–6 and clinching the NFC North, marking their first division title in years while also ending a long playoff drought. However, despite that surge, their run fell short in the Divisional Round

Meanwhile th Lions may have finished bottom of the NFC North last year, but a 9-8 record shows that they still had a winning season, with glimpses of what they could be.

The Lions have one of the most balanced offenses in the NFL, a young lineup patched with veterans known for their high production and efforts under Dan Campbell.

Jared Goff stands on the Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 77.7, and is already generating MVP buzz for the 2026 season.

The Lions are rated as the contender for the NFC title, but the Bears are in the immediate rebuilding mode. The Lions' offensive line up holds players like Aidan Hutchinson, Penei Sewell, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The bookmakers perhaps also take notice of this. 

For the Bears, it's more like unfinished business. While Caleb Williams (75.4 PFF) and pieces like Darnell Wright signal upward movement. The roster has also recently lost Kevin Byard, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Jaquan Brisker in March itself.
