Jordan Love predicted to be fueled by disrespect in latest quarterback rankings

Jordan Love did everything a franchise quarterback could ask for. An 88.5 PFF grade, fifth among 43 qualified quarterbacks, yet ESPN still left him outside its top 10. Respect wasn't just overlooked; it vanished. Now, analyst predicts that he should use this as fuel.

On ESPN's NFL Top 10 quarterback list, Jordan Love went unranked. Although he received an honorable mention, both Jared Goff at No. 9 and Caleb Williams at No. 10 were ranked above him. Not only that, at NFL.com's top 100 player list, he was ranked No. 72, down four positions from last season.

His rankings didn't make any sense to Dairyland Express NFL analyst Nick Halden, who now believes Love should use the disrespect as fuel.

“The needed pieces remain in place for the quarterback to go up another level in the 2026 season and prove why this wasn't an accurate ranking and the jump to Williams has been a bit too soon,” wrote Nick Halden at Dairyland Express on June 19.

After a tie with Sam Darnold, Love and Jayden Daniels, Williams claimed the final spot because evaluators believe he's the hardest quarterback to defend.

Last year, Jordan Love was on fire, throwing for 3,381 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, just six interceptions, and a 101.2 passer rating over 15 games. He finished fifth in passer rating, seventh in yards per attempt, seventh in touchdowns, and 11th in completion percentage.

Interestingly, while ESPN ranked him outside the top 10, Sports Illustrated had a different opinion, placing him 9th in its quarterback rankings while ranking Williams 11th.

While Love has yet to react to those rankings, earlier this year, he gave a positive indication about his mindset heading into the season.

Jordan Love's biggest offseason mission revealed

Last season, Jordan Love proved he belongs among the NFL's elite quarterbacks. Yet despite the questionable rankings, Love isn't slowing down.

Instead, he revealed earlier this year exactly what he's working on to elevate his game even further.

“I've noticed since I got back is just my feet in the pocket. You know, trying to be as smooth, as consistent as possible. You know, when I go through my reads, getting to my hitches, and, you know, not getting antsy,” said Love when asked what he is working on this offseason, per the Green Bay Packers YouTube channel on June 10.

Basically, the Packers quarterback is saying that he's focused on being a metronome in the pocket. He wants consistent drops, consistent hitch timing, and minimal wasted movement this season.

“So, just really trying to focus on my feet, my pocket movements, and obviously I think all those things are tied to accuracy and just the timing of routes and things like that.So, just trying to be as dialed in as possible,” said Love.
