Debates have been surrounding the NFC North's quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Jordan Love, for years now. The latest comparison came from NFL analyst John Frascella, who snubbed Goff in his list of all 32 NFL starting quarterbacks by division.

Despite Goff having led the Lions to consecutive division titles and deep playoff contention, questions have been asked about his postseason performances. Frascella shared the reason behind excluding Goff while placing Love at No.1 in the NFC North.

"I don't have a lot of confidence in Goff in Playoff games or high-leverage games right now," he wrote on May 26, beneath the tweet on quarterback rankings. "Love just had 4 touchdowns with 0 interceptions, if memory serves."

Even though Goff has more experience, last season was a disappointment. The Lions made the Conference Finals in 2023, clinched the first seed in 2024, and completely failed to make the playoffs last year. However, after Love’s recent playoff appearances, NFL analyst Nick Frascella seems to think that Love is a better quarterback.

Detroit suffered a 45-31 home defeat to the sixth-seeded Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Round back in 2024. Detroit gave the ball away five times, including four turnovers by Goff, who threw three interceptions and lost a fumble.

“I also like what he did the year they mopped the Cowboys and nearly beat the 49ers as well," said the analyst. "I think Love is going up, Goff is status quo.”

Love is 1-2 in the postseason with five touchdown passes, five interceptions, and an 83.4 passer rating. His finest postseason moment came against the Dallas Cowboys, where he posted a record-setting 157.2 passer rating in his playoff debut.

Frascella responded to the question by a fan on Love ranking above Goff in his ranking, questioning Love's playoff record, and a quarterback who cannot help the Packers to rise above the No.7 seed.

How Has Jared Goff Performed In The Playoffs So Far?

On March 18, 2021, the Los Angeles Rams sent quarterback Goff and multiple draft picks to the Lions in exchange for quarterback Matthew Stafford. So far, in his career, he has made the playoffs five times. He made it three times with the Rams and twice with the Lions.

While he didn’t have a great first outing, he led the Rams to the Super Bowl in his second time making the playoffs. However, during the Super Bowl, Goff failed to throw for a touchdown and threw one interception while making only 50% of his pass attempts.

After disappointment in the 2020 playoffs as well, he was traded to the Lions.

During the 2024 season, the Lions finished as the 1st seed with a record of 15-2, with both losses being very close games. Goff had finished the regular season with 4,629 yards and a passer rating of 111.8 while making 72.4% of his passes.

However, in the playoffs, he had a pass percentage of just 57.5% and three interceptions while throwing for a touchdown.
