Jared Goff Reveals Lack of Trust in Lions Teammate Jahmyr Gibbs

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (16) warms up before the Dallas Cowboys game at Ford Field in Detroit on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025.

Jared Goff has developed into one of the most important players on the Detroit Lions. His leadership and consistency have helped turn the franchise into a legitimate contender.

However, Goff recently showed that even the closest teammates have their limits. And one Lions star may want to think twice before offering his babysitting services.

During a call with 97.1 The Ticket, the quarterback was asked which teammate he would trust most to babysit his child. He was also asked which teammate would receive the least amount of trust, and his answer was hilarious.

“That's a good question. Trust the most. I think I got to go, I got to go Penei or like Derrick Barnes. He has older, they have older kids. So like, I can trust that, you know, I feel good about that. Tyler Conklin, he's got older kids. Trust the least, St. Brown said this other day, but it's got to be Jahmyr. I'd just be worried he'd lose, he'd lose track of her. He wouldn't pay attention. She'd start walking away. He wouldn't, he wouldn't know where she went.”

It's safe to say Gibbs didn't exactly receive a glowing endorsement. Fortunately, Jared Goff's comments were clearly made in jest, giving the Lions running back something to laugh about.

Jared Goff was recently compared to a Hall of Fame QB

Jared Goff has received plenty of praise throughout his Lions career. Recently, Dan Campbell took that praise a step further by comparing his quarterback to Hall of Famer Drew Brees.

Campbell believes Goff shares several qualities with the legendary quarterback, including his processing speed. That comparison is quite the compliment, especially considering Brees' career and reputation.

Goff has certainly earned that respect in Detroit. He has helped guide the Lions through some of the best years in franchise history. Now, Goff will look to build on that success.
