NFC North is one of the most difficult divisions throughout the NFL, and it is a no-brainer for the community that there is a lot of bad blood between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings.
As showcased in the video originally posted on TikTok, the Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was offered to sign a Vikings cap during an autograph session, which appears to have been held by Fanatics. The Lions star QB did sign the cap but after putting a big cross over the Vikings’ logo.
“Oh man, hold on, I am gonna do this. Like that,” Jared Goff says to himself in a video, which was originally posted on TikTok but later got reposted by Crunch Time Sports via Instagram on July 13, 2026.

The clip quickly divided the NFL community. While many fans applauded Goff's playful jab, others criticized the quarterback for crossing the line.
But was he in a position to do it? Absolutely, he certainly possessed the bragging rights against the Minnesota Vikings.
Under Goff’s signal-calling, the Lions hold a record of 7-3 against the Vikings, per State Muse.
The Vikings-Lions rivalry has become more than an NFC North showdown, it's shaping the legacy of both franchises.
According to Stat Muse, the Minnesota Vikings have a record of 2-8 against the Motor City team on the spread of last 10 games.
Per Pro Football Reference, with a record of 82-45, the Vikings have clearly outshone the Lions.
Again in the 2026 NFL season, both franchises are set to face each other on November 01, 2026, and December 21, 2026.
While Goff has owned the recent rivalry on the field, the latest NFL roster rankings suggest Detroit may still have the upper hand heading into 2026.

However, the Minnesota Vikings are leading the overall rivalry. But in the latest listing of the best projected starting lineups by ESPN’s Mike Clay, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder, the Motor City team possesses a better starting lineup than the Vikings.
According to the list, the Lions are ranked No. 6 out of the 32 teams, whereas the Vikings were ranked 22nd.
The major reason for such a huge difference in the rivalry is the ongoing QB1 battle in the Vikings and a stable offensive lineup in the Detroit Lions.
The Lions still have their core talent intact in the names of running back Jahmyr Gibbs, WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, rusher Aidan Hutchinson, etc.
Lions veteran talent like Sam LaPorta is expected to make their return to the gridiron.
As the rivalry still exists between the franchises, the teams are set to start their training camps in July 2026 to restore their status as contenders for the Lombardi Trophy.
