Jared Goff and Lions tipped for Super Bowl success following disappointing 2025 season

Last season was a major disappointment for Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. Despite having one of the NFL's strongest rosters on paper, Detroit finished last in the NFC North and missed the playoffs.

Now, the Lions have another opportunity to prove themselves. They have maintained much of their core, leaving expectations high once again.

Detroit remains one of the better teams on paper. But can Goff and his teammates finally live up to those expectations? Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer certainly believes they can.

"I'm on record as saying I believe Jared Goff has become way better than people give him credit for. A favorable schedule is waiting too, and I honestly believe the Lions can vie with the Rams and Seahawks for the NFC's ticket to Inglewood."

That's a strong endorsement of Goff and the Lions. However, winning a Super Bowl is easier said than done.

Goff and the rest of Detroit's roster will need to bring their A game every week. If they can do that, perhaps the Lions can finally make their Super Bowl dreams a reality.

The Lions' Aidan Hutchinson is desperate to win a Super Bowl

Aidan Hutchinson is another Lion desperate to reach the mountaintop. The defensive end has established himself as one of the best at his position.

Unfortunately, the last few seasons haven't been particularly kind to Hutchinson. He suffered a season-ending injury in 2024, before watching the Lions disappoint in 2025.

This year, however, he wants things to be different. Hutchinson recently discussed that desire during a golf outing with Goff, bringing up Detroit's past struggles.

The message was clear. The Lions have come close before, but now it's time to finish the job.
