Jared Goff and Co. Have an Upper Hand Against the Packers In Week 7 Faceoff

After missing out last year on playoff football, the Detroit Lions are set to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 7 at Ford Field in Detroit. According to one analyst, there is one advantage that gives Detroit an edge over its divisional rivals.
As reported by Candace Pedraza of the Side Lion report, the Motor City team, led by Jared Goff, has the advantage of time against Jordan Love and Co. in the 2026 NFL schedule.
"Week 7, at Lions. Trips to Ford Field are always daunting (despite the Packers winning there twice in the past three seasons, let's just point that out),” Freddie Boston wrote as per Pedraza. “It will be even tougher for Green Bay this year…”

According to the official 2026 NFL schedule released on May 14, 2026, the Packers will be traveling to Detroit after hosting two games against the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.
“Coming off two monumental matchups against the Bears and Cowboys, the weary Packers will travel to Detroit to face a Lions team coming off a bye week,” Boston wrote. “That's challenging.”
On the other hand, the Motown team will be coming out of their Week 6 bye well rested. They will likely have additional time to prepare.
“Dan Campbell's team will have additional time to prepare and, crucially, get healthy,” he concluded. “It will put the Packers behind the eight ball in a game with so much on the line."
Based on the past results, the Lions and Packers (Yooper Bowl) have a long-standing rivalry when it comes to playing at Ford Field stadium.
In terms of their all-time head-to-head rivalry, Green Bay holds an edge over Detroit. The Packers have won 100+ games while the Lions have managed just 78, with seven games ending in a draw.
But Week 7 isn't the only game that is drawing attention for Detroit. Their Week 10 fixture will be played in Germany.
Jared Goff and Co. Set for Historic First International Clash
As per the schedule, the Detroit Lions, led by Jared Goff, are set to face the New England Patriots in a historic game played at Munich, Germany, for the first time.
"The NFL is very pleased to welcome the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions to Munich in November for a high-caliber game, in collaboration with FC Bayern Munich and the City of Munich", said Alexander Steinforth, General Manager of NFL DACH.
The match will take place on Sunday, November 15, in Week 10, at FC Bayern Munich’s stadium, Allianz Arena. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. German time.
Since 2022, it will be the sixth NFL regular-season match played at the stadium. For the first time in 2026, nine games will be played in the regular season.
The 2026 international slate includes eight games across seven different countries: Melbourne (Australia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), London (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), and Mexico City (Mexico).
With Lombardi's hopes high for Jared Goff & Co., the team will certainly want to recreate their stellar form from 2024 in the upcoming season.
