The buzz around Jahmyr Gibbs isn’t just on the field, it’s hitting betting boards, too. Right now, he’s becoming one of the most talked-about picks for the Offensive Player of the Year.

With Jahmyr Gibbs entering his fourth season with the Detroit Lions, the running back has consistently delivered about 1,000 yards or more in every season so far.  

According to DraftKings sportsbook, Jahmyr Gibbs is leading the odds to win by +700 odds, following him is Falcons running back (RB) Bijan Robinson (+800).

The former round 1 pick was tied for fourth most touchdowns as well as seventh in the league for rushing yards last year. As a running back, he's in a position to continue the recent trend of rushers winning the OPOY award.

Had it not been for Jaxon Smith-Njigba last year, who led the league in receiving yards, the trend of a running back winning since 2022 would have continued.

Meanwhile, Bengals wide receiver (WR) Ja'Marr Chase (+900), Rams WR Puka Nacua (+1000), and 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (+1100) are also in the queue. 

The collegiate star at Alabama, Jahmyr Gibbs, landed a rookie contract with the Lions in 2023 as a 12th overall pick in the NFL draft. 

Currently standing at the Pro Football Focus (PFF)  grade of 85.6, he totaled 1,223 rushing yards in the last season. In the coming 2026 season, the figures are expected to increase.  During the last season, he played in all 17 games for the Detroit Lions and scored 13 touchdowns.

No betting pick comes without risk, and Gibbs is no exception. RB workload always carries durability concerns, especially over a full 17-game season.

There is also the factor of competition, with players like Bijan Robinson and Christian McCaffrey offering similar production profiles.

Can Bijan Robinson Win Offensive Player of the Year in 2026?

The second in the race for Offensive Player of the Year is Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons with +800 odds. It is going to be a close call between these two running backs. Like Gibbs, Bijan is also entering his fourth season with the Falcons.

In the last season, the two-time Pro Bowler had 1,478 yards with a PFF grade of 86.6. During the 2025 NFL season, he also played in all 17 games for the Falcons and scored 7 touchdowns.  

In fact, the player has only missed one game for Atlanta in the last three seasons.

Bijan Robinson remains a strong contender, but Jahmyr Gibbs’ versatility and role in Detroit’s offense seem to give him a slight edge heading into the 2026 season.
