Lionel Messi delivered another historic masterclass against Austria, netting both goals to become the men's World Cup's all-time leading scorer, and Jahmyr Gibbs couldn't wait to celebrate the achievement.

The Lions' star RB took to Instagram, sharing a story posted by Bricks celebrating Lionel Messi's world-record-breaking feat.

"Record Breaker, History Maker," said the picture he uploaded on his story.

Messi missed a penalty in the first half but turned the game around by scoring in the 38th minute and again in stoppage time, surpassing both Miroslav Klose and Marta to become the tournament's all-time leading scorer.

The Instagram story from Gibbs was an ode to this performance.

The Argentina captain has now scored in six consecutive World Cup matches, taking his all-time tally to 18 goals. With the win over Austria, Argentina made it two wins from two and climbed to six points.

Two decades after opening his World Cup account as an 18-year-old against Serbia and Montenegro in 2006, Messi is still rewriting history even at the age of 36.

Now, not only does he lead the scoring chart, but he also becomes the first player to appear in six men's World Cups.

Speaking of Gibbs, he has shown just how big a fan of Messi he is. Before this Instagram story, he shared another one on June 17, highlighting Messi's rise.

That said, Messi was certainly happy with his recent performance.

Following the victory, the Argentina captain celebrated with his teammates and explained that he was simply happy that his team had won.

“Beyond anything, I’m so happy for the win,” Messi said as per AP. “It was huge, tough, and difficult. It would allow us to be relaxed about what’s ahead. All matches in this World Cup are very even, very intense. I’m enjoying this moment and craving to enjoy with my teammates.”

He now has 122 goals for Argentina, leaving only Cristiano Ronaldo ahead on 143.

That said, the team has booked their to the knockout stage with back-to-back wins in Group J. It must be noted that Messi delivered a sensational hat-trick against Algeria as well.

“I have no more words to talk about Leo,” Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said through an interpreter.

That said, Lionel Messi has already proved his worth on football's biggest stage. Now it's Jahmyr Gibbs' turn to prove his value on the NFL stage, with the entire offense set to revolve around him following David Montgomery's departure.
