The Detroit Lions returned to winning ways with a 31-24 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. Jahmyr Gibbs played a major role, scoring three touchdowns in an explosive outing.
The running back’s performance left teammate Isaac TeSlaa thoroughly impressed. Speaking after the game, the Lions wide receiver called Gibbs' display “Jah-dropping” and explained what makes the third-year star so difficult to contain.
TeSlaa said he watches Gibbs break tackles from the sideline. He also pointed to his ability to use a stiff arm and turn difficult situations into positive yardage:
“But yeah, I mean even on the sidelines when I'm out blocking just watching the tackles that he can break, like stiff-arm dudes in the backfield. I mean, it's not always like a huge game, but just to be able to get positive yards out of those things.
Teslaa continued:
"And obviously, there's other plays where we got a play called to the right, and he just takes it to the left and scores. Like that dude is just stupid good at football.”
Gibbs’ latest showing made it clear why his teammates view him as one of Detroit’s most dangerous playmakers.
The Lions running back continues to show his special ability
Jahmyr Gibbs finished with 99 rushing yards and 65 receiving yards.
His production went beyond the three touchdowns, with his vision and tackle-breaking ability creating opportunities for Detroit. Isaac TeSlaa’s comments highlighted how the running back can make something happen when a play does not develop as planned.
That ability gives the Lions another dangerous weapon and keeps defenses guessing.
