Fox Called Out For Disrespecting Detroit Lions In Latest Rankings

The Detroit Lions will begin their Organized Team Activities on May 27. Before that, Fox Sports published its rankings for the top 10 offenses in the league.
On a recent episode of the popular Woodward Sports Network broadcast, the hosts discussed the rankings, where the Lions were ranked as the 10th-best offense in the league.
"There's nine better offenses than the Lions," said Mazeway of the network. "The Ravens and Patriots are over them. Are you kidding?"

Fox Sports national reporter Ben Arthur noted significant personnel changes influenced his final placement of the franchise. He pointed to substantial backfield adjustments and impending changes along the stellar offensive line to justify the spot.
"The Lions still have one of the most talented offenses in football, but it could take a while for them to hit their stride in 2026," Arthur reported.
Understandably, the Patriots are above the Lions based on last season. However, after losing Stefon Diggs, their receiving leader, and not finding a proper replacement, it is hard to justify their positioning.
What's even more puzzling is how the Ravens are above the Lions.
Detroit clearly had a better offense than Baltimore. The Lions were 4th in points scored and 5th in total yards last season. Whereas the Ravens finished the season ranked 11th and 16th, respectively.
And going into the 2026 season, the first five games for Detroit give a positive signal.
The Lions’ Schedule Looks Promising
Detroit hosts the New Orleans Saints at Ford Field in Week 1 to open the season, kicking off a stretch where their first few opponents don't present an overly formidable challenge.
"In the first five weeks, the Lions only play one team, the Buffalo Buffalo Bills, that was able to secure a playoff victory last season," John Maakaron of Sports Illustrated reported May 17.
The Lions have their bye week in week 6. But before that, they travel for three games out of five.
Fortunately for Detroit, the Buffalo Bills appear to be the only formidable challenger among those early opponents.
