Florida court grants relief to Terrion Arnold but not without a warning

The Motor City’s star cornerback, Terrion Arnold, has finally received some relief on the count of armed robbery and kidnapping charges, but it came with a bond.
As reported by Christian Romo of the Detroit Free Press, Terrion Arnold was granted relief in relation to his arrest, but with a $1M bond set by the Hillsborough County judge, Chief Judge Christopher C. Sabella, on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Per Chief Judge Sabella, there is "probable cause" in Terrion Arnold’s case, but that "the burden is higher than the probable cause."

After his arrest back on June 24, 2026, the prosecutors filed a plea before his critical pretrial detention hearing at the courthouse to keep him in custody till criminal trial is over.
"If he is late for practice, ESPN will let us know," he said. "If he violates the conditions of his bond, he will be found."
On the contrary, Chief Judge Sabella rejected the plea, stating, "the state isn't there at this point." Including the request to install an ankle monitor.
The court also permitted him to leave the house for his work-related affairs, including games and practices.
But the court has restricted Arnold from contact or even going near the other six co-defendants till the trial is concluded.
The court also mentioned that he needs to surrender his passport, and ordered him to remain confined to his Tallahassee residence, per ESPN.
During the hearing, the opposition accused Arnold of "encouraging, insisting, and advising" on the count of eight felonies.
Amid the ruling coming from Monday's court session, the Detroit Lions have released Terrion Arnold with immediate effect from the franchise.
Although Arnold secured his release from jail, one major question surrounding his football future remains unanswered.
NFL's position on Terrion Arnold remains unclear
The Hillsborough County Courthouse may have granted him relief, but the league’s stance remains unclear, per Mike Florio of NBC Sports.
According to a league spokesperson, the matter of allowing him to attend the Detroit Lions training camp will remain under review for the time being.
Based on the court's ruling, Arnold is eligible to participate in team activities because the court did not impose football-related restrictions, per the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
However, the NFL still has the authority to place him on the Commissioner's Exempt List if it determines that further action is warranted while the legal process unfolds.
Until the league completes its review, Terrion Arnold's status for the upcoming 2026 NFL season remains in limbo.
