The NFL offseason is nearing the end of its peak-business flow, with the Detroit Lions undergoing a massive roster overhaul. But when newcomers are added, some members of the old roster need to be pushed out.
And this has left many without a place to call home. So, two months deep into free agency, several former Lions who were offloaded in the past one to two years are still unsigned.
Among the ones who went into free agency are faces who have been with the Lions for multiple years, some even for a decade. Others had careers that were riddled with injuries before they could make a mark for the Detroit-based team.
Here are five ex-Lions players still awaiting a call.
1. Jalen Reeves-Maybin
The former Pro Bowl special teams ace recorded over 120 combined tackles during his stints with the Lions. In Detroit, he was a fan-favorite special team player. But since being cut from the Lions in 2024, the Linebacker hasn't been able to make a place for himself.
He signed with the Chicago Bears in November 2025 and played five games for them, of which two were playoff games. However, they eventually decided not to retain him.
The NFLPA president remains unsigned while Detroit filled his spot with younger linebackers like Jimmy Rolder and Erick Hunter.
2. Josh Paschal
There was some hype around Paschal as he was drafted 46th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Lions. But injuries kept piling up and became the primary reason for his career trajectory's downward slope.
A severe back surgery caused by offseason injuries kept him out of the 2025 season entirely. In his career with the Lions, Paschal managed a meager 5 career sacks. He was eventually released this year.
Now, a free agent, the 26-year-old will be searching for a place where he can prove his worth again.
3. Taylor Decker
After spending a whole decade with the Lions at the Left Tackle spot, Taylor Decker will no longer be playing for them. He started all 140 of the games he has played in with Detroit. He also got a Pro Bowl selection following stellar performances in the 2024 season.
However, he requested to leave in the off-season after the Lions proposed a pay reduction. The veteran has still not put his pen to paper for any other NFL team. And in a way that's more surprising than him not renewing for the Lions.
4. Graham Glasgow
Graham Glasgow really stepped up at center last season after Frank Ragnow retired. However, his overall performance declined last season, earning him a 56.8 PFF grade.
Detroit released him this March to clear $5.5 million in cap space during their massive offensive line shakeup. Reports say the 33-year-old is considering retirement.
So for now, he just remains an unsigned free agent.
5. Marcus Davenport
Detroit definitely rolled the dice on Marcus Davenport back in 2024. While Davenport definitely had the potential for brilliance, his run was derailed by non-stop health issues.
The edge rusher only managed to play ten games across two whole seasons. His track record with injuries is no secret within the league, and he is still waiting on the open market.
The NFL teams are almost done setting up their rosters for the upcoming season. But there still might be time for some of these, like Taylor Decker, players to find a new home.
