A high-profile NFL wedding just became a Buffalo Bills reunion. Sam Darnold's recent ceremony brought current and former teammates together, including star quarterback Josh Allen and his new backup, Kyle Allen.

It is official now, Sam Darnold and Katie Hoofnagle read their vows and embark on a new journey. The attendees included Kyle Allen, Josh Allen with wife Hailee Steinfeld, and many other big names from the NFL, including former Detroit Lions quarterback Kyle Allen.

"The best night with all of our favorite people!" the couple told PEOPLE before adding that it was a "fun, energetic, upbeat weekend surrounded by friends and family from all chapters of our lives as individuals and a couple."

On Friday, at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California, the couple had an authentic Southern Californian wedding.

The festivities around the auspicious occasion began with a California Coastal Citrus Welcome Party and concluded with a Limoncello Farewell Brunch.

The bride, Katie Hoofnagle, walked down the white aisle lined with white flowers and lush greenery.

At the bride's request, string players from Pink Mozart Entertainment performed "Forever" by Noah Kahan.

The couple was blessed by 227 wedding guests, all dressed in all blacks and whites.

According to Bustle and People, the couple first met in Charlotte when Darnold played for the Carolina Panthers during the 2021 season, and Hoofnagle was moved there for a job at Loan Pronto. 

The couple officially went public about their relationship in 2023.

The reunion of Kyle Allen and Josh Allen isn’t just off the field, it’s carrying into the season. 

Kyle Allen is set to return to pair up with Josh Allen as his primary backup for the Buffalo Bills in the 2026 season.

According to March 2026 reports, Allen signed a two-year, $4.1 million deal to return to Buffalo as the primary backup. 

It’s a familiar setup. The two quarterbacks used to share the same locker room back in 2023, and that existing chemistry matters in a system that relies on continuity.

The last time Kyle Allen was in the Bills' colors, he couldn't log any completions or touchdowns in his seven limited appearances.

The 30-year-old would certainly be keen to change that this year, but Josh Allen's formidable 127 regular-season game starting record hints towards a limited role still.

Kyle Allen knows the playbook from his time with the Bills earlier. That kind of reliability is exactly what teams look for behind a franchise quarterback.

The wedding appearance highlights their connection both on and off the field.
