Amon-Ra St. Brown didn't hold back when asked to sum up the NFC North in one word per team. While the Detroit Lions star proudly described his own team as "grit," he took a playful jab at the Chicago Bears, claiming they're even more annoying than the Green Bay Packers.
“Vikings: Finesse. Packers: Annoying. Bears: Even more annoying,” said Amon-Ra in his conversation with B/R Gridiron.
St. Brown’s frustration with Caleb Williams and the Bears is palpable. But interestingly, in two meetings with the Chicago last season, he tormented them, hauling in 20 of 26 targets for 254 yards and three touchdowns.
These numbers are exceptional when you consider that it came against a defense that finished among the league's best, while posting a 76.9% catch rate.
The Lions swept the Bears in the 2024 season, winning both games, including the Thanksgiving game, which is a scar in Chicago's memory.
Chicago was leading the game 23-7; however, the Lions eased the 16-point deficit, capitalizing on a late-game clock-management blunder by Caleb Williams and the Bears' coaching staff.
That said, the 2026 rematch carries extra weight this time. The Bears will be travelling to Ford Field for a Thanksgiving Day matchup on Thursday, November 26, kicking off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
Amon-Ra decimated the Bears' secondary the last time they met, yet an NFL legend still left him out of his wide receiver rankings.
Terrell Owens Leaves Amon-Ra St. Brown Out of His Top 5 WRs
Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was asked about the top five wide receivers in the league right now, and he did not even consider naming Amon-Ra St. Brown.
“Right now, I would say Puka, Davante Adams, DeVonta Smith – I like him – Justin Jefferson and A.J. Brown,” Owens told Sports Illustrated.
St. Brown's complete exclusion from that list is surprising, especially considering how remarkably consistent he has been throughout his career.
The star WR finished the season with 117 catches, 1,401 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro along the way. There’s no doubt that he is one of the most dependable offensive weapons in the league.
That said, the former fourth-round pick has long outperformed expectations, recording four straight 1,000-yard campaigns and consistently producing high-volume seasons. Well, he may not be the biggest or the fastest player, but he is one of the most high-IQ players in the game.
Now, will he be able to leave his mark this 2026 season as well? What are your thoughts about the WR? State your opinion in the comments.
