It seems like Maxx Crosby is back on the Detroit Lions' radar.

The Lions have been looking to add defensive pieces to the roster, and Detroit fans now have something to be hopeful about.

According to the latest report, the Lions have reached out to the Las Vegas Raiders to inquire about the availability of the defensive end. 

Earlier, it was reported that the Lions had decided not to pursue the defensive end. However, the possibility of signing Crosby took flight after the latest Lions' move. They waived defensive end Josh Paschal, who spent his last season without playing a game.

Although his contract would have expired by 11 March, it was carried over to the next season due to a non-contact injury.

Waiving him would help the Lions create a space for $1.75 million for the upcoming season.

However, the biggest development in Detroit has been the restructuring of Jared Goff's contract. The Lions' managed to clear over $32 million cap space through Goff's contract restructuring.

According to The Athletic, “Goff was set to earn a base salary of $55 million with a cap hit of $69.6 million in 2026. However, the Lions will convert $40 million of his base salary into a signing bonus.”

The new cap space allows the Lions to sign Crosby. His contract will pay him $30 million this fall, and Detroit is in the perfect spot to land the All-Pro edge rusher.

The Lions' expectation to land Crosby took a big hit after his latest social media update.

After the nixed trade with the Baltimore Ravens, he publicly announced his allegiance to the Las Vegas Raiders.

"Everything Happens For A Reason," Crosby wrote in a post on X. "Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I'm Back. Run That S***."

Crosby’s allegiance came a few days after he bid farwell to the Raiders. After playing seven seasons with the Raiders, he even expressed his happiness about joining the Ravens. Baltimore had agreed to trade for him for two first-round picks, which included the 14th draft choice in the next draft. 

However, Las Vegas later announced that Baltimore “backed out” of the trade. It was later revealed that the trade fell due to medical concerns.
