Jack Campbell just got paid and stays locked through the 2030 season. So, the Detroit locker room gave him a warm welcome back.

The Lions signed their linebacker on a four-year, $81 million extension on May 21, with $51.5 million guaranteed. Running back David Montgomery was quick to share his reaction on the same.

"Yessssssir, proud of you @jackcampbelll," he wrote on his Instagram story.

Even RB Jahmyr Gibbs had posted a salute emoji on his own story the moment the news dropped, per The Detroit Times.

Campbell announced the news himself in a video on the Lions' official X account.

"What's up, One Pride Nation? Jack Campbell here. I just want to let you guys know I signed my extension," he said. "I'm excited to be back. I'm excited to be here long term. Now, it's time to go win a Super Bowl. Go Lions."

The $20.25 million average annual salary makes Campbell the second-highest-paid off-ball linebacker in the NFL, behind only Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers.

Detroit had actually declined his fifth-year option earlier this month, which would have cost $21.92 million for 2027 alone, before coming back with this long-term deal.

Jack Campbell Is the Next Brian Urlacher

DB Brian Branch did not stop at a simple congratulations. He took to his Instagram story and called Campbell "Brian Urlacher 2.0," per The Detroit Times.

That is a big comparison to make. In Urlacher's first three seasons with the Chicago Bears, he racked up 395 tackles (306 solo) and 18.5 sacks. He made the Pro Bowl all three years and earned All-Pro as well.

Campbell's three years in Detroit look remarkably similar. The 25-year-old has 402 tackles (210 solo) and 8.5 sacks. Last season, he made his first All-Pro and first Pro Bowl.

He was the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Iowa. He has appeared in 51 games with 46 starts and has grown into the most important defender on this roster.
