The Detroit Lions kicked off their season with a victory, but it was anything but comfortable. Dan Campbell's team needed overtime to finally overcome the New Orleans Saints 31-30, leaving plenty of positives and concerns to dissect.

One of those concerns was Jameson Williams. The 25-year-old wide receiver endured a difficult afternoon, recording three drops against New Orleans despite the Lions eventually securing the victory.

However, Campbell isn't overly concerned about his star receiver. Instead, the Lions head coach focused on how Williams responded to his mistakes and praised his ability to move forward.

“I'm not concerned… all you can do is reload, regroup and go back for more.”

Campbell particularly liked that Williams didn't allow his mistakes to affect his mentality. Rather than sulking or letting the drops get into his head, the receiver returned to the huddle and continued competing.

That response could prove more important than the mistakes themselves. Williams remains one of the most explosive weapons on Detroit's offense, and Campbell clearly believes one difficult game won't define him.

The Lions Have a Committee Plan to Back Up Jahmyr Gibbs

Williams isn't the only Lions star who has faced questions following the season opener. Jahmyr Gibbs was phenomenal against New Orleans, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns while handling a significant workload.

That workload has raised questions about whether Gibbs can sustain it throughout the season. Dan Campbell has already outlined a plan involving Jacob Saylors and Sione Vaki, with both expected to contribute whenever Gibbs needs a breather.

The Lions therefore have options available as they navigate the long NFL season. For Campbell, the priority is ensuring his key players remain productive without unnecessarily wearing themselves down.
