Brad Holmes Faces Severe Accusations As Taylor Decker Situation Gets Weird

The Taylor Decker saga in Detroit has a new, strange chapter. A reporter claimed that, as per his sources, the veteran tackle's attempts to contact GM Brad Holmes might have failed for a simple reason.
In the latest edition of the “Lions Collective” NFL Podcast, Justin Rogers said, “Interesting thing that was hypothesized to me by multiple members of the organization this week is that Decker might not have had the right number for Brad Holmes."
The beat reporter also explained why he thought that could very well have been the case. "I will say, that is possible, because the number I had for Brad Holmes no longer works, so it adds an interesting layer," added the beat reporter.
Justin Rogers interviewed Taylor Decker at his residence in Arizona, where the former Lions star accused the leadership of abandoning him post-release.

Sharing his frustration, Deceker claimed that he tried to contact the leadership to discuss returning for an 11th season with the Lions, as per the interview released on March 28.
"I think, after a month, if you still haven’t heard from your GM, it still falls at least a little bit on Holmes in terms of that communication," Rogers said on Lions Collective.
What Comes Next for Taylor Decker After Lions Exit Drama
With his release from the Lions, Decker is now a free agent and looking for a new home. According to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, the Chicago Bears could be the best fit for him at the moment.
The Chicago Bears are looking for an edge positioned opposite Montez Sweat, as Dayo Odeyingbo is still recovering from a torn Achilles.
They have re-signed former starting left tackle Braxton Jones, but he has had reliability issues. In another development, Ozzy Trapilo was about to start at the end of the season, but he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon during the playoffs.
Taylor Decker brings more experience, consistent production, and is capable of handling a starting role in a competitive division.
The most important factor is his familiarity with the system. He previously played under Ben Johnson, who was the Lions' offensive coordinator from 2022 to 2024.
