The Chicago Bears’ dome-shaped dream project is now again taking a heavy beating from fans, with the latest concerns raised around the relocation of local businesses and residents.
As reported by Bret Buganski of Fox 32 Chicago, after they posted aerial footage of the two alleged sites for the Bears stadium, fans are raising concerns about the fate of local businesses operating at the Wolf Lake Terminal and the residents in the region.
"I still have people coming up to me saying, 'Is my home going to get taken?' Zero," Mayor Thomas McDermott said. "Anything that's taken, it's a business and usually very old business that's not going to break a lot of hearts if it goes away."

While talking to Fox 32 Chicago, Mayor McDermott denied the claims that the property acquisition would affect the residents.
But he did agree that the operations of the local businesses would be affected for sure.
During the interaction, he did highlight one factor: the effects would be minimal on the businesses.
Per Fox 32 Chicago, the franchise is eyeing two potential sites in Hammond, Indiana. First, a 300-acre site near Lost Marsh Golf Course, and second, an 83-acre property at Wolf Lake Terminals just west of Interstate 90.
Although the Bears have still not publicly committed to Hammond, NFL analysts are reporting that the Chicago Bears are silently acquiring property near Wolf Lake via the city.
Chicago Bears reportedly acquiring land in Hammond
As reported by Bleeves on the Bleeves In Chicago - Bear Down podcast, the Chicago Bears are silently acquiring property near the proposed site of the stadium in Hammond, Indiana.
The move signals that the management is considering finalizing Wolf Lake, Hammond, as the potential site for the stadium construction.
“These buildings are being bought. Uh, what we're not hearing right now and what I'm hearing underneath is that the Chicago Bears are acquiring all this property,” he said. “Now the city is acquiring the property for the Chicago Bears at this point because the Chicago Bears can't be putting their name on something until they have an agreement in place.”
Using the information provided by Ben Divine on his X handle, Bleeves confirmed that the city is acquiring property in the name of the Bears.
Based on the recent purchases made by the city, he concluded that the Bears are eyeing the borders near the Wolf Lake terminal.
With the series of snags the stadium construction is facing, it is highly likely that the construction might begin far from the timeline.
