Barry Sanders looked back on a unique moment from 2019 when he shared the screen with Tom Brady and other NFL legends. The iconic NFL 100 commercial, which featured as many stars from the history of the league, remains a memorable project for the star Lions __

Featuring icons like Deion Sanders, Peyton Manning, and literally the who's who of the league, the ad, which aired at the 2019 Super Bowl, was re-shared by ESPN on Instagram. Sanders, recalling memories from the shoot, commented, “This was so much fun to make.”

The ad was directed by highly accomplished American director, producer, writer, and actor Peter Berg in collaboration with 72andSunny and Mill+. 

The commercial begins with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressing a banquet hall full of former and current legends of the NFL universe. But things pivot towards chaos when Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch couldn’t hold himself back from tasting a five-decker cake. 

His chair slipped, and he fell, dislodging a golden football at the top of the cake. That was all it took for the 100 stars gathered to get back in the rhythm of the game and break out into one at the gathering.

Ndamukong Suh jumped into a dog pile, and Brady flexed his Super Bowl rings before getting into the action. Sanders caught a lateral from Rams RB Todd Gurley, putting on quite the show himself. He dodged past two men coming for him, moving to open space.

The ad ends with the iconic touchdown catch of Odell Beckham Jr.

Barr Sanders took to the spotlight like a natural

The acting job seemed to come easily to the former running back, who showed in the ad that he's still got those wheels. It had been 20 years since he'd retired when the commercial was shot, but Sanders didn't seem a day older than 31.

According to NFL insider Nick Shook, who spoke to some of the ad's producers, Sanders wanted to do quite a lot of hard work.

"Barry Sanders, who actually didn’t use a stunt double. We were ready to go with Barry just because we weren’t sure whether he wanted to make those spin moves and the cuts. He’s like ‘I got this,'" director Peter Berg said. 

When they shot that ad, Sanders was already 50. The concept of the ad was perfectly fitting to stars like him, who can still turn up to show why they were so great in the league.
