Amid the political showdown, the Chicago Bears finally received some relief with their initial idea of constructing the stadium in Arlington Heights.
Coming as a rare exception, the Bears could still maintain their presence in Arlington Heights for another year by keeping their billboard on the Northwest suburb property, according to CBS News Chicago.
It is being called an exception since Arlington Heights does not allow off-site ads and electronic signs.

As per CBS Sports, their billboard will tease advertisements about the Chicago Bears football games and other associated events.
The Bears bid for the former Arlington International Racecourse back in 2021 and formally bought it in February 2023 for $197M.
Previously, the Bears were considering Arlington Heights as the proposed site for the construction of the Bears’ dream dome-shaped stadium.
But because they got no luck in getting a break on the property taxes in the region, they ultimately had to consider Hammond, Indiana, as another potential site.
As the momentum continues to build for Wolf Lake Terminal in Hammond, they might have also started acquiring property in the region.
Chicago Bears reportedly acquiring land in Hammond
As reported by Bleeves on the Bleeves In Chicago - Bear Down podcast, the Bears have silently made their intentions clear by acquiring property near the proposed site of the stadium in Wolf Lake, Hammond.
“These buildings are being bought. Uh, what we're not hearing right now and what I'm hearing underneath is that the Chicago Bears are acquiring all this property,” he said. “Now the city is acquiring the property for the Bears at this point because the Chicago Bears can't be putting their name on something until they have an agreement in place.”
Bleeves used the information shared by Ben Divine in an X post. Later, Bleeves also confirmed that the city is acquiring property in the name of the Bears, from the anonymous insiders.
Based on the recent purchases made by the city, he concluded that the Bears are eyeing the borders near the Wolf Lake terminal.
With the series of snags around the stadium, the Bears' dream project could likely derail further.
