Whether off or on the gridiron, Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown never fails to amuse fans. His latest social media appearance did just that after the Lions star was spotted spending time with two fellow wide receivers, including one from a division rival.

As reported by The Detroit Times, Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown shared an Instagram Story featuring Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze and New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson while the trio spent time together at an undisclosed location.

However, the reason for this link-up, where the trio was seen striking poses led by Amon-Ra, remains unclear.

It is a common practice within the league for the players to hang out together even after playing against each other on the field. 

But what caught more attention within the community was him hanging out with a divisional rival. Everyone in the league is aware of the bad blood between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. 

And Ben Johnson taking over as the head coach of the Bears has only made it more intense. Since 2024, the Lions have been on a winning streak that the Bears are desperately trying to break.

Even as arch-rivals, the Lions' WR Amon-Ra has publicly defended Bears quarterback Caleb Williams against media narratives. 

While St. Brown's offseason meetup generated plenty of discussion, the Lions receiver has never wavered in his confidence about Detroit's own receiving room.

Amon-Ra St. Brown confident in Lions' WR room

Ahead of the 2026 NFL season, the Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown showed his complete faith in the Lions' wide receiver room, per Detroit Lions on SI’s Emmett Matasovsky.

"Internal competition is great. I feel like our receiver room is, I might be biased, but we have one of the best in the league," St. Brown said of Detroit's wide receivers room. "How much competition is there going to be in the receiver room? It's going to be tough, but you always want to bring guys in.” 

St. Brown welcomed the competition within the room, saying it pushes every player to improve while raising the standard across the offense.

“Like for me, I want to have that mentality that my job is always on the line. No matter how many Pro Bowls I have, All-Pros, whatever it may be,” he said. “There's always another guy looking to replace me, the team is always looking to replace me, so I have that mindset going into the year.”

The Lions star also revealed the mindset that has helped him become one of the league's top receivers, explaining that he approaches every season as if he has to earn his spot all over again.

With this faith in place, Amon-Ra St. Brown is set to contribute his part to restore the Lions' contender status for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
