Amon-Ra St. Brown has quietly put together one of the NFL’s most impressive receiving resumes.
However, the Detroit Lions star still does not always receive the same recognition as other elite wideouts. AtoZ Sports’ Kyle Crabbs and Garret Greenlee offered their perspectives on the topic and why that perception should change.
Crabbs questioned the continued caveats surrounding St. Brown after another highly productive stretch:
“How long can we keep going, ‘Yeah, but…’ before we just say he’s really good?”
The numbers make that case difficult to argue against. St. Brown has surpassed 1,400 receiving yards in two of his last three seasons and recorded double-digit touchdowns in each of those three campaigns.
Greenlee, meanwhile, focused on what makes St. Brown so difficult to defend beyond his statistics:
“He’s a complete receiver.”
That assessment captures why St. Brown’s value goes beyond simply accumulating catches.
Amon-Ra St. Brown brings every trait
Amon-Ra St. Brown’s route running, blocking, and football intelligence all contribute to his effectiveness, according to Garret Greenlee.
His reliability is another major strength, with Greenlee highlighting how rarely St. Brown drops the football and how consistently he makes plays.
That dependability has produced historic numbers. St. Brown has 547 receptions through his first five seasons, the most in NFL history over that span.
His size may have caused some to overlook him, but his production and versatility have made that increasingly difficult to justify.
At this stage, the evidence suggests Amon-Ra St. Brown has already earned the elite label.
