Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St.Brown recently got praised on his podcast (St. Brown Podcast) by the three-time Super Bowl champion Julian Edelman. In the presence of Equanimeous St. Brown, Edelman was asked to give rankings to the top five WRs, as per him.

Edelman ranked Ja'Marr Chase at the top, followed by Justin Jefferson, and next was the Detroit Lions WR 'Sun-God.'

"A lot of your value not only comes in your ability to be in a lot of different spots on the field, but it comes in the run game. That's one of the things I love about you," Edelman said.

He stated that St. Brown's fearlessly dives into the chaotic pile of defenders, aggressively engages safeties downfield, and delivers crack blocks. "When you have receivers that block, that's where you get 68-yard touchdowns," Edelman added.

Edelman's tenure as Tom Brady's reliable target in New England gives him a unique perspective on top-tier receiver play.

Next, he ranked Puka Nacua fourth and Jaxon Smith-Njigba fifth.

St. Brown, the two-time Pro-Bowler, in his five seasons with the Lions, has played in 83 games, starting 75. He recorded 547 receptions for 6,252 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns. He averages 11.4 yards per reception and has only two lost fumbles.

With that said, the 2026 NFL Draft concluded last month, and so the St. Browns have new players to work with.

St. Brown Excited About New Teammate in Detroit

Amon-Ra St.Brown gave his straightforward opinion on his club's 2026 NFL draft moves. One rookie tackle specifically impressed the veteran receiver.

St. Brown elaborated on the draft moves during a recent appearance on Crunch Time Sports.

"And I feel like Blake (Miller) is exactly what we needed. A tackle that has that mean streak in him…I saw some of the highlights, putting dudes on their back, finishing guys," said St. Brown

The Lions have made some quality picks this 2026 NFL draft season, including Derrick Moore, Jimmy Rolder, and Kendrick Law, among others. However, it was OT Blake Miller who captivated St. Brown.

He is currently projected to start at right tackle alongside Penei Sewell. With Miller in the scheme, Detroit would manage to improve its pass block rate in 2026, from its 2025 30th pass block win rate (55.2-56%).

With some new and some veteran faces, the Lions are heading into their 2026 season. But to get a high remark from Edelman certainly gives a mental edge to St. Brown.
