The Detroit Lions' star receiver Amon-Ra St.Brown crossed the 1000- yards mark for a fourth season in a row. Perhaps that's why a certain Hall of Fame CB is severely impressed by him.

In a conversation with Kevin Clark of ESPN, Hall of Famer Roland “Champ” Bailey said Amon-Ra St. Brown would be a headache to deal with if he were still playing today.

“He is all over the field. I mean, he can catch and run, he can do everything. He will be a headache,” Champ Bailey said. “He is very deceptive, and I think it's his versatility which is what would give me problems,” Bailey added. 

Bailey’s comments directly reflect what shows up on tape from Amon-Ra St. Brown. In 83 games, the Lions' wide receiver has recorded 547 receptions for 6,252 yards and has scored 44 touchdowns.

Brown has proved time and time again why the term 'headache' suits him. The 26-year-old produced one of the best seasons for the Lions in 2025. He was ranked 5th in receptions (117) and tied for second in touchdowns (11).

Not only that, but his 4 Pro Bowls in four consecutive seasons add more to his greatness. Interestingly, Roland Bailey wasn't the only one singing his praises.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Continues to Earn Respect Across the NFL

The praise doesn’t stop with one Hall of Famer. Around the league, players and analysts keep pointing to Amon-Ra St. Brown’s performance. 

Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean commented, “Amon-Ra, obviously, I knew he was good, but how strong he is running routes and at the catch point definitely surprised me a little bit.” 

“I think I’m a strong guy, but going against him—the way he runs his routes and how physical he is—him and Puka (Nacua),” DeJean said.

In 2025, Brown also made CBS's Pete Prisco Top 100 NFL players list. "St. Brown finished second in the league with 115 catches in 2024 with 12 touchdowns. He is a chain mover with 61.3% of his catches going for first downs," Prisco said.

With the Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson, “I think St. Brown probably tops that list right now,” Johnson said. "I can’t say enough good things about him as a person and as a player. I think that’s the ultimate compliment.”
